Nature Inspired Mixed Media Art
Kelly makes her home on beautiful Salt Spring Island in the Gulf Islands of British Columbia, Canada with her wonderful son, supportive partner, their three dogs, two cats, and surrounded by old growth forests.
She has a strong connection to nature, and feels most at home living amongst the trees, on the Salish Sea. Spending time outdoors rejuvenates her, and inspires the creativity within. Nature is her muse, and her art is playful, joyful and energizing. Kelly loves experimenting with texture and colour, and incorporates many mediums into her work including: collage, pen, ink, graphite, caran d'Ache, acrylic, spray and oil paints.
Kelly began her art training by graduating from the Fine Arts program at Langara College in 2001, however she put her passion for art on hold, to focus on her family life and to pursue a full-time healing business. In the summer of 2020, she returned to school to finally follow her dream of becoming a professional artist and enrolled in the Milan Art Institute Mastery program.
Kelly enjoys spending her days creating nature inspired art, and slowing down through time outdoors in the garden, with her animal friends, and family, and forest bathing in the trees and on the ocean. She is also an originating member of Art for Ancient Trees --an online auction and website that was created by a group of artists concerned about the future of BC's forests. A portion of the proceeds of the sale of their artwork is donated directly to the Ancient Forest Alliance, to help them fulfill their mission of preseving BC's endangered old-growth forests and habitats. Kelly has several original paintings available for auction.
Also a Certified Forest Therapy guide through the Association of Nature & Forest Therapy Guides and Programs, Kelly offers guided forest bathing experiences on Salt Spring Island and Vancouver Island with her partner. Together they created Salish Sea Nature Connections.
Last year Kelly stepped away from a sixteen year wellness practice to pursue her passion for art. In her full-time practice she offered Holistic Nutrition consultations and healing sessions to clients. She was also a Reiki teacher, and long time member of the Canadian Reiki Association as a Registered Teacher, and Certified ThetaHealing Instructor. Kelly now blends her healing into her paintings, and hopes that her work brings positive, uplifiting energy into your home!
