Nature Inspired Mixed Media Art
Kelly makes her home on beautiful Salt Spring Island in the Gulf Islands of British Columbia, Canada with her wonderful son, supportive partner, their three dogs, two cats, and surrounded by old growth forests.
She has a strong connection to nature, and feels most at home living amongst the trees, on the Salish Sea. Spending time outdoors rejuvenates her, and inspires the creativity within. Nature is her muse, and her art is playful, joyful and energizing. Kelly loves experimenting with texture and colour, and incorporates many mediums into her work including: collage, pen, ink, graphite, caran d'Ache, acrylic, spray and oil paints.
Kelly began her art training by graduating from the Fine Arts program at Langara College in 2001, however she put her passion for art on hold, to focus on her family life and pursue a healing business. In the summer of 2020, she returned to school to finally follow her dream of becoming a professional artist and enrolled in the Milan Art Institute Mastery program.
Kelly is also Certified Forest Therapy guide through the Association of Nature & Forest Therapy Guides and Programs and offers guided forest bathing experiences with her partner Peter, on Salt Spring Island and Vancouver Island. Together they created Salish Sea Nature Connections. Last year she stepped away from a sixteen year healing practice where she offered sessions to clients and taught Reiki, ThetaHealing and Holistic Nutrition, to pursue her passion for art full time.
Kelly enjoys spending her days creating nature inspired art, and slowing down through time outdoors in the garden, with her animal friends, and family, and forest bathing in the trees and on the ocean.
